Qigong Energy Healing Techniques for the
Season of Wood

In 5 Element Qigong, the Wood element represents the energy of growth, renewal, and expansion. It is associated with the season of spring, symbolizing the budding of new life and the upward movement of energy. The Wood element in Qigong signifies the liver and gallbladder meridians, which are responsible for the smooth flow of qi throughout the body.

By practicing Qigong exercises specific to the Wood element, individuals can support the harmonious functioning of their liver and gallbladder, cultivate flexibility, and nurture qualities of determination, vision, and adaptability.

Embracing the Wood element in Five Element Qigong helps individuals connect with the energy of nature's renewal and tap into their own inner potential for growth and transformation.

Qigong Energy Healing Techniques

Qigong Energy Healing Techniques follow many of the principles in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). These healing concepts have been around for centuries and are used for a variety of health issues.

The Five Elements of Chinese Medicine are Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water. Each element is associated with a season, and each season relates to an organ or a set of organs. In this article, we will focus on the Wood Season, the season of birth, and how it relates to TCM and Qigong 5 Elements.

The Wood Season occurs in spring. In terms of our Emei Qigong Practice, the spring season begins around February 4th. At this time, changes have already started. The days are getting longer each day, and nature is emerging from the hibernation of winter.

The organs that are associated with the Wood element are the Liver and Gallbladder. The Liver is responsible for channeling energy throughout the body, while the Gallbladder assists with digestion and elimination.

By practicing Five Element Qigong, individuals can cultivate awareness of their internal energy, enhance overall well-being, and foster a deeper connection with nature.

It provides a comprehensive approach to maintaining health, preventing illness, and supporting personal growth and transformation.

The Season of Wood

During The Wood Season, these organs are especially active. As the energy of the wood season enters, it is helpful to consume foods that support the Liver and Gallbladder. In winter, it is best to consume warm/cooked foods. In the wood season, use green vegetables, grains, nuts, and seeds. Because our metabolism is changing, we can add some raw vegetables and salads to our diet.

This goes along with the energetic essence of the wood season. Eating these foods helps to cleanse the body and detoxify the system. While making these changes, we need to be mindful of our digestion.

The Wood Season is a great time to focus on self-care. In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), this transition is also an important time for internal health and balance.

It is a time when we are ending our most Yin season, winter, and moving towards our most yang season, summer. The movement through the wood season creates new opportunities, beginnings, and hope.

Exercise Is Always Helpful. In the spring, we can start to add more activity to help strengthen the body and increase our circulation. Winter is a great time to follow the natural pattern of energy, which is falling and gathering. The natural energy of the season of wood is opening and rising. This helps us facilitate a more active lifestyle.

Practicing Qigong Energy Healing Techniques
